Participants are encouraged to bring their own dried plant material, fibers, threads, wire, twigs and small plastic bowls (even doll heads!) to use with the paper pulp for 2D and 3D exploration.

There will be a 1 hour break for lunch (lunch not provided)

Carole is a paper making artist, originally from Detroit where she taught art in the public schools and as an adjunct at the College for Creative Studies.  She exhibits still at the Detroit Artists Market, but has a studio in the Bridgeport Art Center after moving recently to Chicago.  Her work consists of hand making paper and then tearing, molding, drawing, painting and sewing the papers.  In a gallery show with the University of Michigan’s “Touch” exhibit, she stated her work is a “new way to see surfaces”.  She gives paper making workshops, recently helping artists at the Brooklyn Workshop Gallery in New York.
